Arabians Tonka is an eau de parfum by Montale released in 2019, a take on Arabians built around the tonka bean. The house opens it with bergamot and saffron, sets rose and oud at the heart and closes it on amber, oakmoss, tonka, leather, brown sugar and white musks, in its black aluminum bottle adorned with a golden horse’s head.

Arabians Tonka comes in Montale’s signature bottle, an aluminum cylinder, here in black. A golden horse’s head adorns its front, below the house logo and above the words Arabians Tonka and Eau de Parfum. A black cap tops the neck, from which hangs a golden chain holding a medal.
The house explains this choice by a Grasse tradition, in which master perfumers let their concentrates rest in aluminum vats. For Pierre Montale, who regards perfume as a living natural material, aluminum protects the juice from light and gives it time for a long maceration, from which it emerges stronger, rounder and more intense.
