Very often, Dolce & Gabbana's creations evoke the sweetness of Italian living and the Dolce Vita. It must be said that the house's two designers are not a little proud of their Mediterranean origins. It is thus precisely by evoking Sicily that the very first Dolce fragrance by Dolce & Gabbana was designed, in 2014. In 2023, this feminine fragrance collection continues to grow, with the birth of Dolce Violet.
The house of Dolce & Gabbana was founded by a duo of perfumers, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. They first made their mark in the world of fashion, before creating fragrances, starting in 1992. Yet, in both these worlds, they never missed an opportunity to evoke their Italian origins. This is how Dolce by Dolce & Gabbana was born, in 2014, as a bouquet of white flowers inspired by Sicily. This time, in 2023, the story unfolds more in Milan. Here is our review of Dolce Violet by Dolce & Gabbana.

Dolce Violet, a fragrance more fruity than floral
Dolce Violet by Dolce & Gabbana is described by the house as a feminine Eau de Toilette putting enchanting violet in the spotlight, a flower that radiates light. First freshened with Madagascar mandarin and cyclamen, it then pairs with a juicy touch of blackberry and pear. The result is a sun-drenched fragrance, which ultimately blossoms in a final sensual, creamy breath, coming from a trio of sandalwood, vanilla, and musk. That said, note that Dolce Violet by Dolce & Gabbana releases a more fruity scent, with the flower seemingly placed here in the background. The whole recalls violet candy more than petals. That said, the overall harmony remains very pleasant. Sugar does not take over, and tartness perfectly offsets it.
Dolce Violet, a dive into the history of Dolce & Gabbana
Like all Dolce & Gabbana fragrances, Dolce Violet clearly echoes the house's heritage and the memories of the two perfumers. Accordingly, its advertisement takes us to Milan, one of Italy's most important cities. Its floral breath is a true emotional and sensory journey. Even the Dolce Violet bottle draws on this. The flower forming its cap recalls Sicilian marzipan pastries. The black grosgrain ribbon, for its part, is a nod to the bow ties worn by women during Dolce & Gabbana's earliest runway shows.
Dolce & Gabbana secures a top-tier face for the campaign
To perfect the image of their fragrance, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana also called on a brilliant face for the campaign. In the advertisement for Dolce Violet, Deva Cassel blossoms in the heart of Milan. Free and full of humor, she appears dressed in a leather jacket and studded boots. Her naturalness is disarming. The atmosphere conveyed by this video is absolutely perfect! What's more, Deva Cassel is none other than the daughter of Monica Bellucci and Vincent Cassel. She is also a rising star of international fashion. As proof, she has already walked the runway for Dolce & Gabbana as well as for Dior, while also having appeared on the covers of Vogue Italia and Bazar España.
