In 2025, the house Amouage presents Decision, an Eau de Parfum composed by Quentin Bisch. Pepper and cardamom open the accord on a spicy freshness, before a heart of olibanum, myrrh, rose and jasmine. The base brings together sandalwood, patchouli, cedar, vanilla and vetiver, woody, earthy and warm raw materials.

Spicy top

Pepper opens on an impression of dry spices, crossed with an herbaceous nuance. Cardamom brings fresh spices, while bergamot, a citrus, pairs a slightly sweet fruit with a sharp freshness. Geranium, a flower with rose accents, adds floral sweetness to this opening.

Heart of resins and flowers

Olibanum, a resin burned since antiquity, brings woody, mineral and spicy tones. Juniper, the berry of a conifer, evokes pepper, wood and resin. Myrrh announces itself as warm, balsamic and sweet. Rose takes on a warm shade of honey and wax, and jasmine a sweet warmth with a wild accent.

Woody base

Sandalwood is described as a velvety, warm wood. Patchouli, drawn from the leaves of a tropical Asian plant, has an earthy, damp and camphorous character. Cedar evokes pencil shavings and resin; vetiver, a distilled root, combines wood, smoke and earth. Vanilla rounds out the whole with a spicy, warm sugar.

Woody family

Classified as woody, Decision owes this family to sandalwood, cedar and vetiver, joined by the ligneous tones of olibanum and juniper. Woodies rely on dry, creamy or smoky woods; here the earthy patchouli and the warm vanilla extend this foundation toward earth and sweetness.

Reading the label

The list declares patchouli oil, Atlas cedar essence and bergamot peel essence, echoing the notes. Tetramethyl acetyloctahydronaphthalene is a synthetic amber woody molecule. Limonene and linalyl acetate are found in citrus, pinene in conifers such as juniper, vanillin in vanilla, eugenol in clove.
