Montblanc

When speaking of the Montblanc brand, it is instinctively synonymous with the highest quality of writing. Indeed, its pens have been known throughout the world for more than 100 years. Yet this is not the house's only activity, as it also distinguishes itself in perfumery. It transposes into this field the same values of quality and traditional craftsmanship, including its strict requirements in terms of style and materials.

The rise of the Montblanc brand

The Montblanc company was born from the association of three men: the papermaker Claus Johannes Vos, the banker Alfred Nehemias, and the engineer August Eberstein. Together, they decided in 1906 to create a fountain pen with a built-in ink reservoir and a standard of quality unmatched until then. This required three years of research and development and eventually led, in 1900, to the launch of a first collection of black fountain pens topped with a red-tipped cap. This earned them the nickname “Little Red Riding Hood”. This first product was then followed by another black pen with a white nib. It marked a true revolution in terms of design as well as technique: once closed, it no longer leaked at all. The company's success was immediate. Nevertheless, Montblanc's most famous piece did not appear until 1924. As one might have guessed, this was the iconic Meisterstuck, a high-end pen regarded as a true masterpiece. This greatly helped establish the house's reputation, and Montblanc was represented in more than 60 countries by the end of the 1920s. Moreover, as a mark of exceptional quality, Montblanc did not hesitate, as early as 1935, to offer lifetime guarantees for this pen. It was not until 2010 that Montblanc continued its diversification and developed a fragrance license.

The Montblanc brand in perfumery

The very first Montblanc fragrance to be released is called Legend. It appeared in May 2011 and was aimed at men. It was followed, in February 2013, by its feminine counterpart. Likewise, the Emblem fragrances are timeless landmarks that reflect the heritage of the Montblanc house. They are aimed at sophisticated women and men with a strong appreciation for fine things. Indeed, Montblanc fragrances are crafted by seasoned perfumers who create multiple, highly nuanced aromatic compositions. Montblanc fragrances are always made of softness and emotion. They are at once delicate and balanced, resulting from a fresh and sophisticated synthesis. As with the design of its pens, Montblanc strives to make each of its olfactory creations exceptional. To do so, the house uses the finest natural ingredients available, whether refined flowers, juicy fruits, bolder spices, or mysterious woods.

At the same time, since 2013, the Montblanc company has been led by Jérôme Lambert. He has confirmed his commitment to diversification, and the house is now also expanding into the watchmaking sector.
