Who is Jean-François Latty?

Like most perfumers, Jean-François Latty was born in Grasse. Indeed, it is the world capital of perfume and a true breeding ground for creators. Introduced to the world of perfumery from a very young age, he joined the Ecole Roure in his hometown. Once he graduated, he was hired by that same house and joined its Parisian branch. It was there that he created his first fragrances. Then, in 1969, he was transferred to Roure's American branch, where he stayed for a year. In 1970, he joined the IFF group, one of the world leaders in the perfume and fragrance industry. He remained there until 1987, the year he decided to join the Japanese company Takasago. He created a staggering number of fragrances for them and stayed with the company until 2000. From then on, he founded JFL Créations, his own company, specializing in fragrance creation and the trade of natural raw materials. At the same time, he was won over by the house Téo Cabanel. Captivated by its heritage and the quality of its products, he agreed to become its perfumer. Jean-François Latty still holds this position today.

The house Téo Cabanel

The house Téo Cabanel was born in the late 19th century, created by Théodore Cabanel. It specialized in the creation of Eau de Cologne, a type of perfume very much in vogue at the time. The house was then highly favored by Parisian high society. In 1930, Théodore Cabanel's daughter succeeded her father. She became the official creator for the Duchess of Windsor. This greatly contributed to establishing Téo Cabanel's prestige. In 2003, it was Caroline Ilacqua's turn to take up the torch. Barely 22 years old, she set out to modernize the old fragrances of her predecessors. To achieve this, she went in search of a talented perfumer. That is when she met Jean-François Latty. Won over by her project, he agreed to collaborate with her. Téo Cabanel thus reinvents an authentic perfumery of the past to bring it more modernity. Jean-François Latty brings to each of Téo Cabanel's perfumes a new breath combined with unmatched refinement and definition. Each of his perfumes is crafted from noble, pure and natural raw materials. Jean-François Latty seems to have succeeded in the wild bet of bringing a brand more than a century old back into fashion. Today, its bottles are exported to 500 points of sale spread across more than 35 countries.
