Cécile Zarokian

A graduate of ISIPCA, Cécile Zarokian spent four years at Robertet, where, while still an intern, she composed Epic Woman for Amouage. Working independently in Paris since 2011, she creates for Jovoy, Xerjoff, Laboratorio Olfattivo and Masque Milano. She returned to Amouage as an independent with Material, Opus XIV Royal Tobacco and the Attars.

From Robertet to independence

Cécile Zarokian first studied chemistry and medicine before entering ISIPCA. She spent four years at Robertet, in Grasse and Paris. While still an intern, she composed Epic Woman for Amouage, which, she says, remained among the house’s three best-selling perfumes twelve years later. She cites Isabelle Doyen among her teachers.

In 2011, she founded her company and opened her own laboratory in Paris, to devote herself entirely to her work as an independent perfumer. With an illustrator, she also led an art project pairing six visuals and six perfumes, shown in Paris, in London in 2013 and at the Milan Triennale in 2014.

Creations

She creates for Jovoy, Xerjoff, Jacques Fath, Laboratorio Olfattivo, Parfums MDCI, Masque Milano, Puredistance and Majda Bekkali. Amouage contacted her again once she was independent: for the house she created Material, Epic 56, Opus XIV Royal Tobacco and a series of Attars, presented at the TFWA show in Cannes.

For Nishane, she composed Ani in 2019, inspired by the city of the same name, and its variation Ani X. She also created Reception and Outlands for Amouage, Vanilla Edesia for Electimuss, Bleu Satin for Parfums MDCI and Rubikona for Puredistance, and composes for Laboratorio Olfattivo, including Nerotic.
