The fruity fragrance of Guava Among current fragrances, especially in women's perfumery, fruits are all the rage! It must be said that they have many advantages. They give the perfumes containing them a heightened freshness while retaining a tangy and gourmand quality. Moreover, fruity flavors also have a reassuring side.

Indeed, they have been familiar since our earliest childhood, both to smell and to taste. They therefore win over the nose of most people, including young consumers. Guava, a tropical fruit

Guava is an edible tropical fruit that comes mainly from Central America, Brazil and the Antilles. It grows on a medium-sized tree (which can reach 8 m): the guava tree. Its generous appearance forms an oval shape three to 10 cm long. Guava is covered with a thin skin ranging from green to yellow, lightly speckled with black. Its flesh, for its part, is orange. Guava holds at its center a multitude of small seeds, and delivers a very strong and one-of-a-kind aroma. Nutritionally speaking, it is a fruit very rich in vitamins A, B and C. Indeed, guava is richer in vitamin C than most citrus fruits. Its skin contains five times more than an orange! Likewise, guava is rich in calcium, an exception for a fruit. To preserve these qualities when eating it, guava should be consumed fresh or as a nectar. Nevertheless, it is also excellent in jam or sorbet. Finally, note also that it is a medicinal plant used in various herbal infusions that have the property of lowering blood sugar.

Guava in perfumery

In perfumery, the guava note is used exclusively for feminine fragrances. It lends a fruity, green and pulpy flavor. It gives every composition containing it exotic accents and lets the imagination wander to the other side of the world. Note, however, that guava's scent cannot be extracted directly. In other words, its scent is entirely recreated in the laboratory by the perfumer. The result is a fruity, green and exotic essential oil, which pairs wonderfully with passion fruit.

To give an idea of these uses, note that guava appears in numerous summer fragrances. This is notably the case in Born in Paradise by Escada, in L'Eau d'Issey Summer 2013 by Issey Miyake or in CK One Edition Summer 2016 by Calvin Klein. Other more mainstream compositions also contain it, such as Eternity Moment by Calvin Klein, Fuel for Life Unlimited by Diesel, or Magical Moon by Hanae Mori.
