Bottega Veneta
If France is undoubtedly one of the countries most present on the world perfumery scene, there is no doubt that Italy also holds a place of choice in this sector of activity. As such, Bottega Veneta is a house that has been radiating Italian elegance and the image of this country's luxury across the entire globe for 50 years now.

WoodyThe history of Bottega Veneta
Bottega Veneta is a company that was founded in 1966 by Michel Taddei and Renzo Zengiaro. Eager to proudly display their belonging to Italy, they chose this brand name which literally means “Venetian workshop”. Thus, they began by manufacturing leather craft products, developing their own leather-braiding know-how, a true signature of the house. Very quickly, Bottega Veneta became famous thanks to the impeccable quality of its work. As such, Bottega Veneta became, at the start of the 80s, one of the jet set's favorite brands. Moreover, it was particularly favored by Andy Warhol. It was at the end of the 70s that Renzo Zengiaro and Michele Taddei decided to withdraw from the Bottega Veneta house, handing over their positions to Vittorio and Laura Moltedo. Nevertheless, the brand thereafter gradually abandoned its clean-lined style in favor of a more trend-driven fashion, which damaged its reputation. This is how the Bottega Veneta house came to be bought out by the Gucci group.
Bottega Veneta under the Gucci house
The acquisition of Bottega Veneta by Gucci marks the latest chapter in the house's recent history. At the same time, Tomas Maier joined that same year as artistic director and presented his first fall collection there. His ambition was then to reconnect with the brand's original identity, highlighting Bottega Veneta's emblematic motif on each of its creations and returning to a craft-based mode of production. This greatly contributed to reviving Bottega Veneta's positive image. Thus, faced with this renewed success, the Bottega Veneta house expanded its range over the following years. This is how it added jewelry, eyewear, furniture, handbags, shoes and perfume. The first Bottega Veneta fragrance was born in 2011 from the hands of Michel Nérac, soberly bearing the name of the house. Naturally, it was then a matter of playing the leather card, giving rise to a supple and delicate fragrance, a perfect echo of Bottega Veneta's elegant and discreet image. This was also wrapped in spicy, syrupy and downy notes, becoming a sort of warm, heady olfactory fur. Bottega Veneta describes this juice as being in the image of a Venetian countryside, like a vision bathed in warmth, sun and lulled by the song of cicadas.
