Atelier Cologne is a brand born from the meeting of Christophe Cervasel and Sylvie Ganter. The two first met in 2006, in New York. Their story very quickly turned into both a love story and a shared passion turned profession. Christophe Cervasel is a born entrepreneur, passionate above all about psychology and comic books. He was born in Toulouse but describes himself as Parisian by adoption and Italian at heart. One of his greatest passions is traveling the world to discover different cultures. His family is a true pillar for him, almost as much as the world of perfume. Sylvie Ganter, for her part, is Franco-Italian, a New Yorker by adoption. Nevertheless, she admits to being utterly in love with the city of Paris. Like her partner, she loves wandering to the four corners of the planet above all else. Trained as an interior architect, she enjoys designing spaces while giving them an authentic spirit. To do so, she does not hesitate to draw inspiration from the many countries she has visited throughout her life. Moreover, it is this very same creative approach that guides her in the making of perfumes.
The launch of the Atelier Cologne brand
Christophe Cervasel and Sylvie Ganter quickly realized that they had a great deal in common. Both agreed that they enjoyed Colognes but felt that this type of fragrance often lacked real personality. This is how they embarked on an ambitious project: founding their own perfume house entirely dedicated to Cologne, with the aim of restoring its former prestige. Atelier Cologne is thus a brand whose ambition is to create Colognes with character and the same longevity as an extrait de parfum. Naturally, this required years of research. Nevertheless, through sheer perseverance, the dream eventually came to life, giving rise to an original collection named Cologne Absolue. Atelier Cologne fragrances are thus offered across six olfactory lines. The Originale collection highlights the elegance of citrus while giving it exceptional longevity. Matières, meanwhile, sets out to reinterpret the essences of iconic perfumes. The Metal line showcases rare, precious and unexpected fragrances, while Azur, a line developed exclusively with Sephora, leans more into a marine atmosphere. Lastly, Orient pays tribute to the eastern part of the globe. What is more, Atelier Cologne also creates bespoke fragrances. These draw on unique stories, which only makes them all the more fascinating.
