Robert Gonnon is a discreet perfumer about whom little is known, except that he created sumptuous perfumes within a very short span of time. He was also a perfumer for the house Firmenich. This is a Swiss company specializing in the creation of food flavors and fragrances. It was founded in 1895 and is today considered a giant of the perfume industry.
It thus ranks just behind Givaudan, positioning itself as the world leader in its sector. Robert Gonnon thus seems to have laid his own stone in this now monumental edifice. The company's reputation allowed him to create fragrances for the greatest luxury brands. He began his career at full speed by launching the famous Ô de Lancôme in 1969. For the same brand, he then developed the Sikkim fragrances in two different versions. At the same time, he also partnered with Courrèges and created Empreintes, as well as with Grès for QuiProQuo. Finally, a little later, in 1978, he composed Anaïs Anaïs for Cacharel as well as Metal for Paco Rabanne, which later also became Eau de Metal, in 1986.
