Nino Amaddeo is a perfumer whose story combines love, travel and perfumery. He created the Réminiscence brand and became an icon of the hippie style of days gone by. The love story between Nino Amaddeo and Zoé Coste Nino Amaddeo is an Italian photographer who lived in Belgium and who one day met a young French hairdresser. She was a creator at heart and he a visionary. The spark then ignited between them in the early 70s and it was together that they decided to fulfill their dream: to create jewelry and perfumes on the French Riviera. To do this, they launched their own company and named it Réminiscence. It then embodied to perfection the couple's vision of the world.
Zoé Coste liked to say: for me, beauty is inner, all emotion and joy of living. To which Nino Amaddeo added: Réminiscence is a concentrate of all our desires. The story then began with the opening of a sort of large hippie bazaar, saturated with music, filled with jewelry and full of gourmand fragrances. All of the items were handcrafted by local artisans using raw materials brought back by the couple from all four corners of the globe over the course of numerous journeys. Buying Réminiscence products then amounted to granting oneself a touch of fantasy in daily life. Each of Nino Amaddeo's creations is thus filled with cheerfulness and sunshine.
Nino Amaddeo's great successes
Of course, over more than 40 years of existence, Nino Amaddeo has crafted famous fragrances that still occupy shelves today. If Rem draws direct inspiration from the suntan lotion of vacations spent in Saint-Barthélemy, Patchouli, for its part, became the emblem of the hippie movement of the 70s. Nino Amaddeo's products are now sold throughout the world. Likewise, despite this considerable growth, the Réminiscence company has managed to remain family-run. While Zoé Coste is unfortunately no longer with us today, the son of these two creators, Sébastien, has taken the helm of one of their Thai factories. Their daughter Lilla, for her part, handles the creative side, bringing her touch of magic to the Réminiscence creation studio, located in Cannes.
Today, Réminiscence has managed to preserve the original vision of Nino Amaddeo and Zoé Coste. The company remains synonymous with blending, ethnic inspiration, contrasts and exuberance. Thus, throughout his career, Nino Amaddeo created fragrances with the unique power to spice up daily life by adding a touch of dream to it.
