Corinne Cachen

Corinne Cachen is a creator apart in the world of perfumery. She is an art lover in general. In fact, when asked: If you were a character, who would you be?, she answers: Yehudi Menuhin. An American violinist and conductor, he was always a child prodigy. Thus, he performed in the greatest orchestras of Paris and New York and is considered one of the greatest violinists of the twentieth century. This choice says a great deal about Corinne Cachen's sensibility. But then, into what kind of world can her perfumes possibly take us?

The career of Corinne Cachen

Corinne Cachen is a perfume creator with a fairly classic background. Indeed, she graduated from ISIPCA in 1983. This happens to be one of the most prestigious perfumery schools in the world. It is located in Versailles and has seen the most celebrated perfumers of today pass through its classrooms. Corinne Cachen then trained at Florasynth. A company based in Grasse, the world capital of perfumery, it was among the world leaders in the production of aromas used in the food industry as well as in perfumery. However, it was bought out by the German group Bayer in 1995. Corinne Cachen then moved to Créations Aromatiques, where she continued her training. She subsequently settled at Drom Fragrances International, a company where she has held the position of perfumer for some twenty years now. Founded in 1911 in Germany, this independent family company has managed to grow into a true giant of the creative world. Today, this house is present in more than 42 countries and has five creative centers. Drom Fragrances International also has its own museum. Working for such a company allowed Corinne Cachen to open the doors to the greatest luxury houses.

Corinne Cachen's sources of inspiration and her finest creations

Generally speaking, Corinne Cachen draws her inspiration from her travels. Indeed, she constantly needs freedom and escape. This wanderer at heart has been in love with discovery since her earliest childhood. She also says she draws her creative inspiration from her childhood. Originally from the south of France, Corinne Cachen enjoys crafting perfumes redolent of Provence. She has also lived in the West Indies. This can be felt in many of her perfumes. These often possess a warm note, somewhat vanilla and spicy. Corinne Cachen likes to blend cultures in each of her works. For her, the perfumer's craft is made of sensitivity, curiosity and constant research. Thus, a successful perfume must, in her view, contribute to seduction, to pleasure, trigger emotions, let the imagination wander, and render as closely as possible what nature offers us. Among her greatest successes, Corinne Cachen is notably the creator of Let’s Fly Man by Benetton, Présence by Montblanc, Claude Montana for the eponymous house, and Billie by Kimmi Dolls.
