Bob Aliano

An ambitious and visionary character, Bob Aliano contributed to the development of several companies. Although he remains particularly discreet about his career, we have traced for you the main lines of his professional path. Bob Aliano, a fragrance marketing specialist, began his career in the 70s within Revlon, an American cosmetics and fragrance company created in 1932 by Charles Revson. He joined as director of packaging and marketing development for products. Bob Aliano then contributed greatly to the success of certain items of the brand. His communication proved particularly effective and he put his personal touch on more than 3000 products!

Nevertheless, he left this company in 1977 to join Max Factor, a popular cosmetics line belonging to Procter & Gamble, as vice president. He then completely revised the brand's positioning, aesthetically transforming all product lines and treating cosmetic care in the same way one showcases a fragrance. From 1980, Bob Aliano set out entirely on his own as a marketing consultant. He then assisted many companies such as Syntex Corporation, Sprague Metal Box, SkinControl, Princess Cruises... There, in 1986, he was approached by Giorgio Beverly Hills. The company appointed him vice president, and it was then that Bob Aliano truly began working on fragrance creation as such.

Bob Aliano, the perfumer

When he joined Giorgio Beverly Hills, Bob Aliano's ambition was to develop the brand on a global scale. To do so, he acted on three fronts simultaneously. He considerably developed the company's creative direction. At the same time, he maintained constant watch so as to seize every new business opportunity. Finally, he marketed new fragrances while working with advertising agencies to establish their reputation from the outset. He thus helped create Giorgio Red for Women and for Men as well as Wings for Men and Women, both in terms of scent and design. This all-rounder thus put his mark on the fragrant formula of his fragrances while giving them a strong visual effect. The gamble was then brilliantly won, as Giorgio Red allowed the company to achieve revenue of 1.5 billion dollars!

More recently, Bob Aliano has also collaborated with Hugo Boss. He thus took part in the creation of Hugo in 1995, as well as Hugo by Karim Rashi, Hugo Create Limited Edition and Hugo Spray, in 2009. These are his very latest creations, and it would seem that Bob Aliano has finally decided to take his well-deserved retirement after a career rich in success and awards.
