Mandarin brings a burst of sweet citrus, and cocoa a dark, powdery note, more bitter than chocolate. Sambac jasmine, a variety with a rich, slightly fruity scent, forms its floral part, between the citrus and the warm notes.
Amber, in perfumery an accord of resins and vanilla rather than a single material, gives the fragrance its warm character: it is what justifies the amber classification the house highlights.
The chypre touch
A chypre usually rests on the contrast between a citrus opening and a base of patchouli and oakmoss. Mandarin does supply the citrus, but none of these base materials has been announced: for now, the chypre touch rests solely on the house’s description.
What remains unknown
The order in which the four notes appear, the materials accompanying them and the ingredient list have yet to be published, as have the size and the house’s credit for the perfumer.
