What is Softact?
Generally speaking, Softact is a supercritical carbon extraction, meaning extraction in a liquid state. Softact is also called CO2 extraction. Indeed, when CO2 is placed under pressure at a temperature below 40°, it turns into a liquid state. It then acquires the same properties as a solvent. While the concept behind Softact is particularly innovative, its operating process remains fairly simple. To do this, a plant or bark to be extracted is placed in a closed system through which the CO2 passes. It is then recovered and distilled before being released into the atmosphere in its gaseous form.
